Unlike wax or sealants that sit on top of the paint and degrade within months, Gtechniq uses nanotechnology to chemically bond to your vehicle's clear coat. This creates a permanent or semi-permanent layer that is significantly harder, more heat-resistant, and won't wash off with soaps or detergents.
Gtechniq’s professional coatings (Crystal Serum Ultra and Light) provide industry-leading chemical resistance against acidic damage like bird droppings. While no coating is 100% immune to mineral deposits from hard water, Gtechniq makes these spots much easier to remove and prevents them from etching deep into your actual paint.
This is a common misconception. While ceramic coatings provide a 10H or 9H hardness that protects against fine swirl marks and light scratches, they are not thick enough to stop high-velocity rock chips. For impact protection, we recommend combining Gtechniq with Paint Protection Film (PPF).
To maintain the 9-year warranty and the mirror-like finish, we strictly advise against "touch" car washes with spinning brushes, which can mar any surface. However, because Gtechniq is so hydrophobic, a simple touchless wash or a basic hand wash is usually all it takes to make the car look freshly detailed.
If you plan on keeping your vehicle for more than 5 years, Ultra is the definitive choice. It features a 10H top layer for superior swirl resistance and a 9-year guarantee. Crystal Serum Light is an excellent 5-year "High-Value" option, but Ultra provides the thickest, glossiest barrier available in the industry.
At TWT, a professional Gtechniq application typically takes 1 to 2 days. This includes our multi-stage decontamination and paint correction. Once applied, the coating needs to stay dry for at least 12 hours in our climate-controlled studio to properly "set" before it’s ready for the Los Angeles roads.
